My very own SUPERSTAR. Rajnikanth is well known for his style. He is a perfect example from rags to riches. Fondly called as "THALAIVAR" by his fans all over the world. Rajnikanth is my personal favourite. I feel proud to inscribe about his innumerable achievements. There are so many things to learn from this man. Nothing has changed him. His money, grandeur of films and social status has never overpowered him.

Needs can always be met, but greed can never be fulfilled

His actual name is Shivaji Rao Gaekwad born on 12th December 1950 in Bangalore Maratha family. When he was studying in school, rajnikanth was offered a role of Duryodhana in the play Kurukshetra, it is then he started taking interest in acting. He tried his hands on variety of works in Madras and Bangalore and finally enrolled as a bus conductor in Bangalore Transport Service. He continued doing stage plays. He saw an ad that acting courses were provided by Madras Film Institute. Raj Bahadur - his friend and co-worker who motivated and supported him though his family was against it.

Tamil film director K. Balachander noticed Rajinikanth while performing various stage plays and advised him to learn Tamil and he followed it quickly.

It was his Godfather K. Balachander who gave him a chance to showcase his talent. Rajnikanth first Tamil film was Apoorva Raagangal released in 1975.

An evaluation from The Hindu famed that: "Newcomer Rajinikanth is dignified and impressive".

He started his career as a villain and went on to become a hero. He acted in various movies making box office houseful. It was in the year 1995, movie Baasha emerged as an industry record. His success continued, nothing stopped him until 2002, the release of the movie - Baba. It incurred huge losses and much to the hype couldn't meet the viewer's expectation. Distributors incurred heavy losses which was personally paid by Rajnikanth.

Chandramukhi, a Tamil movie was released in the year 2005 a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu became houseful in theatre. It made him After Jackie Chan he was declared as 2nd highest paid actor. In 2010, the Sci-Fi movie Enthiran was released as the most expensive Indian film ever made, becoming the second highest-grossing film in India of its time.

The year 2011 was difficult phase for him he was hospitalised and admitted in ICU. It was only after two months he recovered fully and was back in action. His recent release was Petta which received a great applause for his return.

It is his fans love that even at the age of 68 he creates magic on the screen. No matter whether his film ends up being a flop or hit, he never fails to entertain. He encourages taking risk and following passion.

We will always love you our SUPERSTAR…..
