Every year we fill our food stores with cereals, pulses, oils etc and safe-side ourselves disregarding the workforce behind making the food. It is the farmers who should be considered our god who are providing us with the grains and vegetables on a regular basis. The govt. is trying to make sure that food supply remains constant inside the country. But it is difficult. It is said that by 2050, the amount of production would be needed to be doubled to survive.
This is a big deal to deal with. It will require more automation and less manforce. The amount of fertilisers need to be adequately produced and Used. This is not the situation with countries like US and UK, their production is enough to maintain a balance between production and consumption.
But in India, production needs to be increased to a very steep level. There needs more of automation and of a new concept of'Precision farming'. Robots need to be introduced on a regular basis.
Without affecting the land and increasing production is the most perfect solution to our solution. Such Robots are called 'Agribots'. In a short duration such Agribots will be introduced in India. They work with precise computed amounts and test the land regularly to save the fields from the detrimental effects of excess fertilisers. All the resources will be conserved and the diseases caused will be reduced. Robots take care of how much the land needs digging, fertilisers, water and heat.
Autonomous farming will draw a change in our cultural practices and create Ethical issues.
Selective farming is a field where the Agribots may turn as a disadvantage and as a liability. They might not be able to judge at a full accuracy.
But using robotics gives the country a guarantee that adequate inputs will be availed within defined time restraints. Agribots can also be used to assist the farmers in various works. It overall helps increase the efficiency of working.
