I am not evil, I punish evil. I AM THE DEVIL.
š„SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!š„
Today, I completed the series named "Lucifer" available on Netflix and I have to say it is one of the best series I ever watched.
I normally watch the sci-fi and fantasy series and avoid watching crime, murder, thriller ones. And that is why I was avoiding watching this series because if you read the description it says that Lucifer made an alliance with a homicide detective so I thought I won't enjoy it. But, I thought let's watch the first two episodes and if still, I don't enjoy it won't continue. But, damn! I watch the first episode, five minutes into it and I fell in love with it. Well, that was mainly because of Tom Ellis's British accent, I kinda have a weakness for that. But, as I continued I realized it was more than just his accent, murders, cases and the Lucifer story.
One thing about this series that I never thought would be a catch was how they tapped into human psychology so much. You see Lucifer, the lord of hell has come to earth for a vacation. And so he is not really aware of human emotions and how to understand them. He starts to take therapy sessions in order to have experts advice on the emotions he faces. They used to be my favorite scenes. How he used to explain his situations and how Linda (therapist) used to listen to him and give him insights. The other was how the detective (Chloe) had to read every person involved in the crime in order to see their motive that it is a way of understanding human psychology. Unexpected yet awesome learning.

The way this whole series turned out and the way it was all planned was impeccable. Every case was somehow related to what lucifer's situation in his real life and how solving that case might help him understand his own situation. You know, finding the motive behind the murder. He started helping the detective in solving the cases because he believed in punishing them, people who did something bad.
Lucifer's story if you are not aware of that was, he was one of the angles in heaven and was cast out by God as he started a rebellion. He was made the lord of hell in order to punish the evil. It was a job given to him. And because he was forced into being someone he was not or rather people believed that he was the incarnation of evil and he makes the people do bad things, he hated God and always thought he was somehow making plans and manipulating him (talk about daddy issues). And so while he was on earth enjoying his vacation or rather solving the cases his another brother named amenandiel was after him trying to convince him to go back to hell as amenadiel was a loyal soldier and the favorite son of God (told in one of the episodes). But Lucifer being never listened to him and stayed.
Lucifer Morningstar was living in LA as an owner of a night club called lux, he was very rich and well famous among people for giving favor you know, deal with the devil. He has drawn out people's desires which actually helped a lot during solving murders. One of the demon from hell was also with him as his protector, mazikeen smith or maze. I loved her fighting skills. A total badass. An awesome character. Even though people misunderstood that being a demon she won't understand human emotions but In the end, she fought for the people she loved because love makes you strong, not weak. Her bonding with Trixie (Chloe's daughter) was also the cutest thing.

Throughout the whole series, Lucifer was solving cases but with that, his own life was going on as in season 2 his mother the goddess came back from hell, she too was cast out by God into hell. Last season eve from Adam and Eve, Lucifer's first love also came back. In season 3 Cain from Cain and Abel also came. All of these characters added more fun and made the story more interesting. One thing about Lucifer was that he never lied to anyone about anything. Since the beginning, he said the truth to everyone about who he is but no one believed and thought he was just using metaphors and it his one way of coping with things. Which actually proved that people will only believe in things they want to doesn't matter even if the person standing in front of them is telling the truth.
Lucifer, the protagonist. His character was something beyond measure. Funny, sweet, charming. Of course, his British accent added more fun to it but the way he carried himself and the confidence he had made him the BEST. His dialogue delivery and fighting skills were amazing.
Chloe, a miracle baby. A very smart and logical person with confidence. The only person on whom lucifer's power of drawing people desire doesn't work and makes him vulnerable even though he is invincible. All this proved that they were the best couple. She accepted Lucifer for who he was, the devil because she saw the real him. She didn't believe all the stories about the devil, satan and whatever else he is called she believed in him, believed in her partner.
Linda, the therapist was the first human who saw lucifer's real face, the devil face and of course, it was hard and impossible to believe. But she understood him and still treated him as a patient. Later, also gave birth to a half angel half-human baby with amenadiel.
Every character was one of their kind and made this series one of the best. From the pilot to finale there was not even a single episode I didn't enjoy. Everything was amazing, the character, the story, the background music, the dialogue everything at its perfection. A must watch for everyone who loves either crime or fantasy series. This series mixed two the totally different genres. You can learn a lot from this single series. As I said, the way they tapped into human psychology was beyond perfection. Every situation in the episode can be to a situational life.
Today when I was watching the last episode I was kinda sad that this amazing series is about to come to an end but you know, if I hadn't watched this series I would have regretted it. There is so much to take for this series that I can't even write all that down but one thing which is for sure is to always ask myself before doing anything that "what is it that you desire? What is it that you truly want?".
