Sidney Sheldon

There are numerous authors which you like and then there are some who permanently make a place in your heart. Sidney Sheldon is one such prolific writer who I admire.

Born in 1917 during the Great Depression period in America. Sheldon thought of committing suicide at the age of 17 after struggling in various jobs but this wasn't enough to make ends meet, constant fights of his parents made the situation more worse. One day his father discovered that he is been popping sleeping pills thats when he talked him out of the situation. But there was one thing that Sheldon knew from within that he loved writing and that writing was his key to heal . It was his therapeutic way to ease out all the stress in his life.

I have read many Sidney Sheldon books like Doomsday conspiracy, Other Side Of Me , if tomorrow comes, tell me your dreams etc. Each and every book of his is equally captivating with unexpected twists and turns. Women have always been the central character of his books. He considered them to be more powerful and intellectually attractive .

For instance , in the book 'stars shine down' the main character is of Lara Cameron who despite having a tumultuous childhood rises up to become a successful real estate developer without having any godfather to support , It's amazing to witness the journey of her character shine like a diamond at the end of the book .

My most favourite book of his is "Other Side Of Me" , through this book we discover Sidney Sheldon The Human . The autobiography jouneys his life as a struggling artist during the Great Depression period to one of America's greatest fictional writer . A career spanning 40 years he has produced many successful shows like the Patty Duke show, Genie in the bottle & the bachelor and the Bobby soxer which won him an Academy Award .

Sheldon's novels and stories are read and revered by one and all. The trials and tribulations faced by him during his life bear a testimony that even after facing innumerable rejections- we must keep going , keep walking towards a goal no matter what life throws at us . The book other side of me is highly inspiring which conveys a message that you should never give up, give our best, be consistent and have an unwavering faith in ourselves that we can make it. Its a must read for every person who has seen failure of any kind in his life .

Imagine had he committed suicide, then world would have lost a creative genius who was unique and interesting therby inspiring thousands of writers to pen down their thoughts and let the world know that the world of writing is a deep ocean where you can make readers drown happily .
