An Apology: A Poem

If my memories
Could write back to me
Taking me to a downtown trip
Of all the bliss
That came my way
all the peals of laughter
Lasting longer
than my cheeks could bear
Of all the fortunes
I did not even deserve
Of all the people & times
Too good to be true
Of all the pubes and sobs
That I could not contain
Of bleakness & feeling numb
Of series of days and nights
Which came and went by
If I go to all the moments
I've lived and survived
And my memories
Could write back to me
A thank you note
Thanking for all the joy
I've stored in its bag
They'll be amazed
By how it would sound
Nothing more, and nothing less
Than a mere letter of apology.
