The evolving mobile phones has grown from basic devices to multifunctional smartphones. Today when we leave our homes without them, it feels like we’ve been disconnected from the world.

These are the milestones of how smartphones have evolved:

MEMORY:
Before, mobile phone memory was limited to just store numbers and messages. By the time mobile phone has evolved it offered more space to store photos and music also. For more storage space MicroSD cards were introduced. Today it has created a market for applications, as now smartphones have enough storage for photos, music, videos, apps and much more.

MOBILE DATA:
Before mobile data plans offered limited data per month. Today to meet the demand for more internet usage, companies started offering different prepaid/postpaid plans with unlimited data. With unlimited data, you can go watch your favorite TV shows or series whether it’s from home, train or work.

MUSIC:
Before you could only listen to music from built-in radio application. There was also a time you had to carry an iPod, Walkman around for your music.

But now it has become easy through music streaming apps, with no limit to the number of music files you store on smartphones.

CAMERA:
As smartphones evolved, so did the camera. The evolution of camera with internet made more conveniently easy to share part of our lives with others. Today smartphones are equipped with cameras that users no longer need compact cameras. It is best to invest in an unlimited mobile data plan as no hustle of data drain for constantly uploading photos on social sites.

Think back to the time when making calls were expensive as phone calls were charged per minute and people used to worry about the phone bills.

Today we have access to unlimited calling anywhere and anytime. Also, we have roaming facility to stay connected to abroad destinations.

THE TOUCHSCREENS:
Apple firstly introduced a full touchscreen device with a single home button. A year later Samsung came out with the Galaxy phones. This was the turning point for smartphones evolution where people got more screen space and less physical keys.

Let’s give a dose of nostalgia:

Then: Snake
Now: PUBG
Snake, one can play for hours and the goal was to make snake longer. Now, how PUBG keeps us busy to lose sleep.

Then: Battery for 4 days
Now: switch to Powerbanks
The battery life was long because you only make calls and texts, so it could go long without charge. Now, with all your smartphone applications it is understandable why we lug around power banks.

Then: BBM
