Ram Mandir- Babri Masjid is a dispute between the two communities- Hindus and Muslims. It has a political, historical and socio-religious background. this ayodhya dispute revolves around the birthplace of Lord Rama.Hindus say that the mosque was built on the top of Rama temple whereas Muslims say that the Hindus placed idols of lord Rama under the cover of darkness.

This dispute arose when the Hindus destroyed the Babri Masjid( where the Muslims had offered prayers for years at Ayodhya) during a rally under LK Advani to Ayodhya by gathering more than 2 lakh "Karsevaks" stating that there stood a Rama Temple below, which was demolished for the construction of the Masjid. The destruction of the Masjid turned into riots in december 1992.

In 2002 there was an attack on the train carrying Hindus to the city of Ayodhya which later led to Gujarat riots.

When the demolition of Masjid was investigated by the government many BJP leaders were found involved: Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani, Uma Bharti and many more. The case was filed in the court regarding the controversy where Allahabad High Court gave the judgement of distribution of 2.77 acre land into three parts- one-third to Ram lalla for construction of Rama Mandir, one-third to Islamic Sunni Waqf Board and one-third to Hindu religious denomination , Nirmohi Akhara, keeping in mind that Ayodhya was the birthplace of Rama and the archeological survey of Babri Masjid whch indicated the existence of a Hindu temple under the Masjid.

Agrrieved by the judgement of the Allahabad High Court , the parties appealed against the verdict in Supreme Court. A bench of three judges, Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Abdul Nazeerwill be hearing the case.

In my opinion the controversy could be settled by the judgement of the High Court which was correct in distributing the land in accurate proportion, but this controversy being religious should be settled amicably outside the court.
