Manohar Parikkar, the 63 year old chief minister of Goa, lost his deadly fight with cancer on 17th of March 2019. With this loss of a noble man, Goa got a new leader to lead them, Pramod Sawant, a BJP candidate took oath as the chief minister of Goa on 19th of march.

When Pramod Sawant was asked in an interview to The Times of India on the draft casino policy framed by his predecessor Manohar Parrikar, he responded by saying that he cannot comment on the issue without studying the subject.

He further assured, that he will study the subject carefully and will soon return to make his stand.

Due to Parrikar's death, the finalisation and notification of the casino policy, which was shifting of offshore casino from river Mandovi to a designated area, could not be completed, so now everyone's eyes are on new CM's action.
