Today’s era is the era of internet , the age of technology. Just a click is needed and you would be able to get a whole lot of required information. May it be watching a web series or surfing the internet , you have an answer to each and every question and all the credit goes to the internet.

The surfing that you do while purchasing from any online store orwhile seeing a new season of a web series are all a part of surface web browsing. Surface web browsingis the level of browsing that is easily available to each and every user on the internet, but to the surprise, it comprises only , 5% of the complete networking system.

The next level of browsing is referred to as the deep web. Deep web basically comprises of the websites that are used by private and government companies for the new policies, products and ideas and is inaccessible by the common people. This contributes about 90% of the web content. But the depth of internet is not it , if we go a few layers beneath browsing content of the deep web ,another surface exists, which is referred to as the dark web .

The dark web comprises of 5% of the total browsing content. Though similar to the deep web , orcan be said as a subtype of the deep web, but is far more severe than deep web is. It is basically, a network of websites which requires basic encryption technologies to access. Most of us after listening to the word, ”dark web”, would be thinking that would comprise of something illegal , like drug trafficking , human trafficking etc. Yes, it is true, the above mentioned are some of the contents that a dark web possess, but this is not all. It is a common market for selling of human products, which includes belts , wallets made up of human skin. Don’t get shocked, the list has just started. It also has a site named “the cannibal forum” , whichis used as a platform to sell fresh human meat. Next in the browsing content is, “the red room”, which is far beyond anyone could imagine.

In a red room , usually the victim is tortured and even killed in a live video conferencing with the viewers, who pay the required amount for that. You might be confused, what a red room actually is ? In simple words, it could be explained as , a girl is taken in a room with a man whose face is hidden and as soon as the door of the room is closed, the video conferencing with the viewers who had paid the requisite amount to have a password for entry in the chat room is started. With the request of the viewer ,the victim is tortured , sometimes sexually harassed, at times even thevictim is cut done straight as per the amount paid to the prepetrator. The more severe the wound is , more is the amount requested. The worst case of the red room till now , was “daisy’s destruction”, who at the age of 18 months was brutally raped and murdered in the red room , though the culprit was arrested and convicted , but isn’t this inhuman ?

Everything has two sides and that is what dark web too has, the protected passwords and the encrypted sites are all a boon of the dark web. It should be kept in mind, that webif not used carefully, is a key to doom.
