My Other Half Is You

"Engaged 27 March'19."
Sitting on the rocking chair in his balcony, he updated his Facebook status.
'Even stars are shining brighter today.' He thought. Everybody was the partner in his happiness. The moon, he saw, was crescent seeming like it is it's way of smiling.

He was finally engaged with a girl whom he loves dearly. Few months earlier, he saw her in one of the family function. She was traipsingaround in the hall wearing the most beautiful colour contrasting gown ever, Black and Golden.

'The colour of her gown is matching the colour of her eyes.' He noticed.
'Aesa dekha nahin khubsurat koi' the lyric drilled into his mind. He appreciated thebeauty.
The outfit seems as if it was made for her only.
"She must be Naira's friend" He presumed. "How do I approachher....I must ask Naira."
He get busy in his thoughts.

There, someone's unceasing gaze made her realise some unusual activity. She looked up to see the Culprit and HE was right there.

"Oh....Hello.....who are you?"
She pinched him.
Seeing her standing right infront of him made him stammer
"I'm....I'm Zahir...."
He had no idea what else to say.
"Alright, I'm Batin, very calmly she replied, "looking at me continuously haan, who are you? My guard??"

"I'm Naira's cousin, hope she had mention me anytime...in her talks.."
"Who are we to talk about ZAHIR janab, we don't backbite."
The reply was sharp.
He laughed a bit.
"It's alright, she'll tell you about me."
He turned away.
"Acha listen, let's mixup Zahir with Batin and make it a complete soul! What say?"
She was stunned.
What is it???
Is he proposing her!
Or is it just a pick upline from some Movie or TV serial!

It is Just A Prank!
"Khushi....." someone called her from behind.
She looked at him and moved away.

Unable to move he was still under the surveillance of those two black pearls, the two surprised eyes shocked by his proposal.

He was lost in his own thoughts when the phone vibrated.
'Khushi Calling'
The screen was blinking.
"Hey Batini Khushi" He smiled as if she's right there, sitting with him.
"I want to ask you one thing"
Her question was direct.
"Yes, please ask"
"We have met only once in Naira's wedding, you saw me only once, we didn't meet again and today we are engaged. How did you presumed that I'm the girl who can be your Batin?"

"Do you reallywant to know?"
Yes, I reallywant to know."
She was confident.
"Your Zahir(appearance) is always deceptive."
He said.
"What true is something which is your Batin and I believe in this. Have you read the story of 'Majnoon laila'? What if I tell you that Qais wasn't in love with the zahir of laila! Laila was a negro but he didn't care. He was in love with the batin. And the day I met you, I thought the same. No one is as beautiful as a girl who thinks that discussingsomeone in his/her absence is backbiting. No one is as beautiful as a girl who knows the difference between Zahir and batin and also.."he added. "..no one is as smart as a girl who knows how to make a guy stammer just with her look."

He laughed and she was quite on the other side.

Few months later...
She was in his balcony, sitting on his rockingchair. He was standing right against her, looking at her face.

They got married few days before and she knew that she can't be happier.
"Zahir look how beautiful this full moon sight is!"
She exclaimed. She had always been a great admirer of full moon nights.
He looked at her. Her face was sparkling, just like the shining stars up on the sky.
"Khushi......" He called her name.
"Yes??" She looked at him.
"Zindagi Jab bhi teri bazm me'n lati hai hame'n ~ Yeh zami'n chand se behtar nazr aati hai hame'n"
Once again his words left her stunned but this time with a smile on her face.
