The millennials upping their lingo game has been the talk of the townfor quite some time now. But even if you are having a hard time catching up, you’ve got yourself covered this time. So here’s to a slang game so on fleek!

Clap back- When you are getting dissed at and you hit it back with a bang! That’s when you clap back at the haters.

Stan – A diehard or a superfan of a singer, actor, athelete, community, band. Being a bit obsessivemay also count as being a stan. So if you’re a crazy Beyonce fan, you might refer might want to be identified as Beyonce’s stan.

Hunty- Owing its fame todrag. The word is used in a context where you announce that you’re aware of what the other person, probably a good friend, have been upto.

Or it may also be used to address a friend but with some attitude to oozing out, at the end of the sentence.“Nice one, Hunty”.

Swerve - If you hear anybody saying it to you, you understand that you are not being welcomed, certainly. The other person is just probably saving the time and energy to convey that “you are not welcome here and you better get lost” or “get out of the way”.

Phubbing – Okay, so if you were not aware of this slang somehow, guess what! Your slang game got more swag now. Phubbing refers to when you snub someone and choose to be with your phone, giving it the undivided attention.

Gucci - My eleven year old cousin, pointing at my hand bag said “ Gucci”. And I knew for a fact it couldn’t be, never!Yeah, miracles happen but getting real Gucci is some serious stuff we are talking about. Well, she just meantthat its nice. Like somewhat close to what we would say as dope.

Wig snatched - To be surprised or happy over an event or something else. More like when you are shook bacause of something crazy, exciting and it has blown your mind- " My wig is snatched".

It also refers to exposing someone to reveal the truth- " she got her wig snatched by her best friend".

Turnt – Its more like a new variant for the word 'turned'. It expresses a phase when you are super excited, happy and hyped up for a party or an event. Or when you are really enjoying the party/event. Like "the crowd got turnt up, when we entered the party".

Salty – It means being upset or in a grumpy mood. So you are being salty when you are agitated or in a bad mood.

Bye,Felicia – It’s a kind of diss as you bid farewell to the other person. A brief way to dismiss them without having to say that you really don’t care.
