How important are failures?

Apart from winning matches and hearts of the audience who gather to witness a game, sport teaches us one of the most acute lessons of our lives, it is to handle failures or loss. Winning or losing a game is the part and partial of every sport. One has to lose in order to make way for the other to win. This lesson that sport teaches a sportsman makes them different from every other common man.

Life is a roller coaster ride; each step has something amusing yet unexpected. We might feel extreme fear of falling at some point, while in the other second, we are amused. Real life is no different from it, we feel ourselves to the ground at some moment while in the other, we find ourselves getting back up. There are people who are very weak at handling failures in their lives, which results in very extreme steps being taken by them and may sometimes decide to end their lives as well.

How does it help?

Students at their tender age are often very disappointed when it comes to scoring less marks in their exams and tests. It is mostly due to the pressure that is being levied upon them either by parents, teachers or peer groups. They think scoring less is the end of their lives and there is nothing more to see to it. A game is exactly an examination for players who have trained for years to perform and yet, are not able to win. But a sportsman never gives up, it teaches a person to get back up stronger after he is being hit hard and made to fall.

This is what sports is all about, it is about having an attitude that never urges to give and forces us to keep trying till we are able to achieve what we really want. Go out there now and play sport, be a sportsman and learn not give up ever in your lives.
