Jeans are a major part of our wardrobes. With the evolution of jeans for being just for coal miners to for everyone as an essential outfit, jeans have conquered the world.

With the increasing number of type of jeans, like the bell pants, slim cut jeans, bootcut jeans, etc., ripped jeans have stood out spectacularly to make a fashion statement.

Ripped jeans or distressed jeans can have a wide range of possibilities to accessorize and mix, match and wear with clothes. But great things, come with great value. So is in the case of the jeans. Ripped jeans can be quite expensive and often parents won’t allow it. and you cannot save enough money from your pocket money, because of outside food.

So here’s a hack for all my college going friends in how to make rips properly in their jeans.

Things you’ll need:
1. A pair of jeans
2. Scissors
3. A nail filer
4. Some tweezers
5. A pencil or a chalk

So let's get started.

Step 1:

Start off by putting on the jeans and mark where you want to make the cut. Be sure to avoid any creases to come in the place where you want to make the mark. Don’t make the mark too light that it is not noticeable to you.Make sure the mark it even on both the sides and at the same level.

Step 2:

Once you are done with marking, take them off. Take one leg of the jeans, and pinch in the cloth at the place where you made the mark and make a small slit in between.

This will help you make the slit on the mark. Be sure you cut carefully, along the lines. Because a single misalignment can make the thing go really bad.

Step 3:

After you are done doing the cut with the scissors, next you can take the tweezers and start taking off tiny threads from either side of the cut. Mind it, they should be small threads in order to make a really torn off, casual look.

Step 4:

Then, stretch out the fabric inch by inch (the part of cut off) and file the edges with a nail filer. This is done to soften the look of the edges and make it look more casual.

Go ahead, and repeat the process in the other leg of the jeans.

And voila! Your own self-made, knee-cut ripped jeans are made.

Pair it up with anything that you like and enjoy your look.

Thank You!
