Spy based movies are always the best. Nothing is better to keep you on your toes all the time, you are always anxious and praying that he/she doesn’t get caught. I have a personal list of favourite spy movies and here they go as follows-

James Bond

James Bond movies are classics. If we’re going to discuss spy movies this must be included. James Bond is an MI6 agent, who is a fictional character which has been played by so many actors. It is the longest-running film franchise from 1962 till present date. The series includes a total of 26 movies. The first James Bond movie was titled ‘Dr. No’ which was released in 1962. The latest Bond movie released in 2015 called ‘Spectre’. These movies are loved by all and are a must watch if you love such kinds of movies.

Mission Impossible

This Tom Cruise starring series has gathered a lot of positive response from the audience. It is based on the television series having the same title by Bruce Geller. The series has a total of six movies. The first movie ‘Mission: Impossible’ released in 1996. Since then five movies have been released ‘Mission: Impossible 2’ in 2000, ‘Mission: Impossible III’ in 2006, ‘Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol’ in 2011, ‘Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation’ in 2015 and the latest release in 2018 titled ‘Mission: Impossible- Fallout’ in 2018. The main character is Ethan Hunt, an IMF agent who gets a series of missions to complete which seem impossible to complete.

Spy

Spy is a comedy spy film which was released in 2015, starring Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, and Jude Law. It is a spy movie with a dash of humour. Susan Cooper is a CIA analyst who does a desk job. When one of the agents is compromised, she volunteers to become a spy. This is an amazing movie which shows that you don’t always need to be perfect to be a spy. Determination and hard work are what helped Susan to succeed. This movie was different than the other spy movies, which made it so special and won the hearts of the audience.

Kingsman

Kingsman is an action comedy spy film. Kingsman: The Secret Service is the first movie in this series which had released in 2014. It starts from the recruitment of Gary Unwin into a secret spy organization. He joins a mission to take down a global threat from Richmond Valentine who is a wealthy megalomaniac. The lead actors are Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, and Samuel L. Jackson. It was well received by the audience. The sequel was released in 2017 called as Kingsman: The Golden Circle. It a perfect mix of action and comedy. A prequel is set to release in 2020.

The November Man

The November Man is a British spy thriller film which is based on the novel ‘There are No Spies’ by Bill Granger. The movie released in 2014 starring Pierce Brosnan, Luke Bracey, and Olga Kurylenko. The story revolves around Peter a retired CIA agent who is given the task of protecting Alice, a valuable witness who has secret information about the Russian Presidential Candidate. The movie didn’t garner quite a favourable response from the audience, but the movie is considered to have a decent plot and an acceptable spy film.
