Wild Heart

She had a wild heart and saw the world in colours of adventure.
Maybe she never stepped out.
Maybe she couldn't yet.
Maybe she had her moments of self-doubt.
Maybe she was afraid that there's no safety net.
But nevertheless she dares to dream.
To tread on desert paths and swim in streams.
She will choose to believe that one day she'll be free
To make smores by a bonfire or swing from a tree.
She didn't seem crazy, no, not reckless
But there was something beautiful about how she was so careless.
No one saw how within her was true fearlessness
Deep within she was fierce despite her mundane life being a mess.
When the weather is unpleasant
She'll dream of beautiful days in the future.
Though her adventurous spirit is trapped in the present
It won't stop her wild heart from seeing the world in colours of adventure.
This one was also inspired by a friend. She is definitely the adventurous kind. She loves doing exciting things but her circumstances never allowed her to go out and explore. She couldn’t do all the things she wanted to do or travel all the places she’d wanted to go. It didn’t even seem like a possibility and I thought, eventually, she’d realize that and give up. But she never stopped dreaming. She always gets excited thinking about the adventures she longs to go on. She sees the world in a whole different way even though her life seems the opposite. Her perspectives and dreams for the future show how determined she is to make it happen. Her outlook on the every day things have a sense of adventure and that never fails to amaze me. Her desires aren’t always seen and some even called her careless for the way she deals with important life decisions. She constantly says that she doesn't have dreams for her career, that she doesn't know what she is going to do with her life. But if only she knew that she is dreaming far greater dreams. Ones that involved adrenaline rushes and laughter. Ones that truly make her happy. The spark in her eyes when she talks about something she loves, even though she knows she could never have it, was something truly inspiring. I hope we can learn to dream like her. To exude the same joy while we’re on our way to living our dream.
