UNO is an American card game. The word UNO means ‘One’. To play this game one needs a special printed deck.It is a family game and anyone from any age can play this game. This game was created by MERLE ROBBINS in year 1971.

It is a shedding type card game. At a time 2-10 players can play this game. There are 108 cards in a deck; where each action card bears a symbol which denotes their action. The cards are divided in a group of four colours, i.e., red, yellow, blue and green. It also contains few special cards like skip, draw four, wild, skip etc.The person, who gets rid of his /her cards first, is the winner of the game.

Few advantages of playing UNO are

  1. It helps in motor skill development of kids. It helps in development of both fine and gross motor skills. But fine motor skills are more developed.

  2. It helps in improving eye-hand coordination. One has to use both hands and eyes at the same time and hence it helps in overall improvement of eye-hand coordination.

  3. It is a multi-player game, so it helps in increasing social interaction and parents can spend time with their children. It helps in creating bonding with other and can also help in creating new bonds. Also it helps an individual to open up, when we continue to play this game with different people again and again.

  4. It can be used as a medium for teaching and children can learn a lot. It can teach small kid about colours and numbers. And if learning is done in an interesting way then it helps in fast learning.

  5. It helps in development of patience and sportsmanship. One has to wait for his/her turn and this helps in development of patience in an individual.

  6. It can be played anywhere and anytime. Also it is easy to carry. it is pocket friendly.

UNO is not like other card games. It is something different. One can keep on playing this game for hours without getting bored. This is a fun game that one can enjoy with friends and family.
