The word JENGA comes from a Swahili word which means “to build”. Jenga is a game which is quite similar to the blocks that we used during our childhood for making towers. This game was created by British board game designer and author Leslie Scoot.

Jenga is a game of both physical and mental skills. The best part is, this game engages people of all age groups. Anyone can play this game. In this game a tower is created by using the wooden blocks. Each player has to take out of block form the tower and has to place it on the top of the tower. But one has to make sure that the tower or any block does not falls completely.

It is a fun game and one can keep on playing this game n number of times. one can play this game alone or with his/her friends and family. But the number does not matter because one is going to enjoy the game.

Some of the benefits of Jenga are

Anyone can play this irrespective of their age. It’s a good way of refreshing oneself .This does not require much of physical movement because of which elderly people can also play this game.

  1. It helps in development of motor skills especially fine motor skills. It involves movement of hand and fingers which are part of fine motor.

  2. It helps in development of non-verbal reasoning.

  3. It helps in development of concentration and strategy making. One has to take one piece at a time and has to make sure that the tower does not fall and for the same one has to concentrate.

  4. It helps in distracting mind and helps in reduction of stress. As one has to concentrate in this game this helps in diverting the mind of an individual and hence it helps in reduction of stress.

  5. One has to be calm while playing it and hence one can inculcate this character in his/her nature. 1.Calmness is required to win this game. And playing this game regurly, can help in induction of calmness in one nature.

  6. With little modification it can help in vocabulary, language and personality development

Overall this game is really helpful. It can help us a lot and can bring a drastic change in ourselves. It can be the best way by which we can inculcate desire traits in small children. So everyone should play this game and enjoy it….

Very well written Bhumika. These need of the time is to have some thing, which would control mind and facilitate concentration. Earlier during our days, it used to be said that maths improves concentration. But that subject was not liked by many. But this game is not that complicated. As such easy for everyone to get play the game and improve concentration thereby reduce stress

As detailed by Bhumika the game not only develop your technical skills but helps in controlling wavering mind. Nice write up in simple and understandable language. No better way to explain the game and generate interest in the game. After writing a good number of articles on varied subjects Bhumika's style of presentation has improved tremendously, which would be obvious to any and every reader.
