  उसने आकाश से पानी उतारा तो नदी - नाले अपनी - अपनी समाई के अनुसार बह निकले । फिर पानी के बहाव ने उभरे हुए झाग को उठा लिया और उसमें से भी, जिसे वे ज़ेवर या दूसरे सामान बनाने के लिए आग में तपाते हैं, ऐसा ही झाग उठता है । इस प्रकार अल्लाह सत्य और असत्य की मिसाल बयान करता है । फिर जो झाग है वह तो सूखकर नष्ट हो जाता है और जो कुछ लोगों को लाभ पहुँचानेवाला होता है, वह धरती में ठहर जाता है । इसी प्रकार अल्लाह दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत करता है

• He sendeth down water from the heaven, so that the valleys flow according to their measure ; then the torrent beareth the scum on top, and from that over which they kindle a fire seeking ornament or goods - ariseth a scum like thereto: Thus doth Allah propound the truth and falsity. Then as for the scum, it departeth as rubbish, and as for that which benefiteth the mankind, it lasteth on the earth: Thus doth Allah propound the similitudes.
  उसने आकाश से पानी उतारा तो नदी - नाले अपनी - अपनी समाई के अनुसार बह निकले । फिर पानी के बहाव ने उभरे हुए झाग को उठा लिया और उसमें से भी, जिसे वे ज़ेवर या दूसरे सामान बनाने के लिए आग में तपाते हैं, ऐसा ही झाग उठता है । इस प्रकार अल्लाह सत्य और असत्य की मिसाल बयान करता है । फिर जो झाग है वह तो सूखकर नष्ट हो जाता है और जो कुछ लोगों को लाभ पहुँचानेवाला होता है, वह धरती में ठहर जाता है । इसी प्रकार अल्लाह दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत करता है

• Allah sends down water from the heavens and the river - beds flow, each according to its measure, and the torrent carries along a swelling scum. In like manner, from that metal which they smelt in the fire to make ornaments and utensils, there arises scum like it. Thus does Allah depict truth and falsehood. As for the scum, it passes away as dross ; but that which benefits mankind abides on the earth. Thus does Allah explain through examples.
  उसी ने आसमान से पानी बरसाया फिर अपने अपने अन्दाज़े से नाले बह निकले फिर पानी के रेले पर फूला हुआ झाग आ गया और उस चीज़ से भी जिसे ये लोग ज़ेवर या कोई असबाब बनाने की ग़रज़ से आग में तपाते हैं इसी तरह फेन आ जाता है युं ख़ुदा हक़ व बातिल की मसले बयान फरमाता है ग़रज़ फेन तो खुश्क होकर ग़ायब हो जाता है जिससे लोगों को नफा पहुँचता है वह ज़मीन में ठहरा रहता है युं ख़ुदा मसले बयान फरमाता है

• He sends down water from the cloud, then watercourses flow according to their measure, and the torrent bears along the swelling foam, and from what they melt in the fire for the sake of making ornaments or apparatus arises a scum like it ; thus does Allah compare truth and falsehood ; then as for the scum, it passes away as a worthless thing ; and as for that which profits the people, it tarries in the earth ; thus does Allah set forth parables.

• Then the Blast struck them, justifiably, and We turned them into scum. So away with the wicked people.
  ग़रज़ उन्हें यक़ीनन एक सख्त चिंघाड़ ने ले डाला तो हमने उन्हें कूडे क़रकट बना छोड़ा पस ज़ालिमों पर लानत है

As such, Allah strikes both the truth and the false. As for the scum it is cast away as jetsam, but, that which profits people remains on the earth. As such Allah strikes the parables.

So God strikes both the true and the false. As for the scum, it vanishes as jetsam, and what profits men abides in the earth. Even so God strikes His similitudes.
