India is rich in case of exotic forest life, spices & vegetation. But not only this, our country is filled with exotic insects too. We can find so many uncommon & rare species of butterflies here. Here is an list of Subfamily Papilioninae butterflies which are indigenous in India.

1. Teinopalpus imperialis,
Common name the Kaiser-i-Hind,
Found along the Eastern Himalayas including West Bengal, Meghalaya, Assam, Sikkim and Manipur.
Rare butterfly which is protected.

2. Graphium nomius, the spot swordtail.
Found from southern and eastern India including Sikkim and Assam.
This butterfly is fairly common and local. Not threatened.

3. Lamproptera curius, the white dragontail

Found from Assam to Burma.
The white dragontail is not known to be threatened.

4. Losaria rhodifer, the Andaman clubtail, Native to India.

The butterfly is restricted to the Andaman Islands.
Not listed as threatened.

5. Pachliopta hector, the crimson rose
In India, it is found in the Western Ghats, Kerala, West Bengal, Odisha & Andaman Islands.
Common & not known to be threatened, but protected. It is common all along the Western Ghats up to Maharashtra but rare in Gujarat.

6. Troides minos, the southern birdwing

The largest butterfly of India.
Very common in the southern and central Western Ghats including Karnataka and Kerala. Also found in southern Maharashtra and northern Goa.

Not known to be threatened.

7. Papilio (Chilasa) paradoxa, the great blue mime
Found in northern India including Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.
Never common but not known to be threatened. Considered rare in India.

8. Papilio krishna, the Krishna peacock

Found in Sikkim, Bhutan, Darjeeling, Nagaland, Manipur, Myanmar and all around the Himalayas.
Uncommon but not threatened.
