During low tide, the sea water retreats up to 5 km from the shore, making it appear as though the sea has vanished.It’s a spectacular thing to watch!

A single glimpse of this Manipuri Loktak Lake will find you numerous hummocks embedded on it. These hummocks are nothing but accumulation of organic matter and soil. They are no less than small islands. Some are inhabited even! There lies the Keibul Lam Jao.…. (interrupting) what? National Park; the one and only floating national park in the world.
Place– Magnetic Hill, Leh-Ladakh.
Vehicles moving with the ignition turned off? No no, it’s not a wonder car movie, it’s about the Magnetic Hill in Leh-Ladakh where vehicles get pulled uphill without any driver. Unbelievable! If you place your vehicle at the marked box on the road, it will automatically start moving uphill at 10-20 kmph. Though it’s a supernatural thing to the native villagers, it is due the presence of a relatively higher magnetic force in that particular region. Optical Illusion also plays a role there. The thought to be Uphill slope is a down-hill one in reality.
Place– Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose Botanic garden, Kolkata
Here is the 250 year old Great Banyan Tree which is drawing attention due to its vast plethora of aerial roots, it feels as though you have entered a forest. But the twist lies here, its main trunk having been removed due to decay in 1925. Despite this, the tree continues to grow spreading over 4 acres. It has been crowned as one of the largest trees in the world.

Decades ago, a meteor hit the Buldhana district of Maharashtra and left behind a crater. This place is tourist spot now and people with special interest of bird-watching consider it a paradise. There are several temples surrounding the lake, only one of which is in proper condition. The unique feature of the crater is it bears both alkaline as well as saline water. Due to this water quality it supports it supports atypical microorganisms.

Basalt formation can’t be thought so impressive to look at until visiting this place! Located in the Arabian Sea, you can watch its structural beauty if you are in Karnataka. Formed as an outcome of aerial and volcanic activities, there are 4 islands that are inclusively known as St. Mary’s Islands. What makes them unique is their hexagonal columnar joints, which are too to find and makes them one-of-a-kind.
