In 1900 Tesla announced that he had detected intelligent signals from outer space: timed pulses coming as ...1, ...2, ...3. He referred to these as "counting codes." So, Tesla indeed may have received a 1-2-3 signal as naturally-occurring VLF radio pulses produced by lightning on the planet Jupiter. The authors Corum also discovered that, at the time that Tesla presumably was performing the experiment, both Mars and Jupiter were rising and setting together. Therefore the 1-2-3 pulses from Jupiter might be assumed to originate with Mars. (Note that this was the era of Percival Lowell's publications on the Canals of Mars, and much of the scientific community was open to the possibility of martian water and greenery, if not actual cities there.)

This greatly resembles the much later discovery of precise-timed radio signals from pulsars, and at the time of discovery, all the speculation that such signals couldn't be natural, but had to originate from LGMs (Little Green Men i.e. alien civilization.)

There could also be a possibility, when several authors wrote on Tesla's supposed origin, as an alien being from a UFO...

In the 1930s AH Matthews says Tesla was born on a flying saucer to alien parents from the planet Venus, and later built odd radios for conversing with ETs

In 1959 M. Storm wrote "Return of the Dove," claiming that Tesla was an alien from Venus.
In the 1950s Otis T. Carr, a Tesla protege and bellhop at one of Tesla's hotel residences, claimed to build a 45ft flying saucer based on alien technology got from Tesla. He took investors money, vanished without a flying saucer, and was later caught and jailed for fraud.

And here it is that what he actually said to a journal :-
"I can never forget the first sensations I experienced when itdawned upon me that I had observed something possibly ofincalculable consequences to mankind. I felt as though I werepresent at the birth of a new knowledge or the revelation of a greattruth. My first observations positively terrified me as there waspresent in them something mysterious, not to say supernatural, and Iwas alone in my laboratory at night; but at that time the idea ofthese disturbances being intelligently controlled signals did notyet present itself to me.“

"The changes I noted were taking place periodically and with such aclear suggestion of number and order that they were not traceable toany cause known to me. I was familiar, of course, with suchelectrical disturbances as are produced by the sun, Aurora Borealis, and earth currents, and I was as sure as I could be of any fact thatthese variations were due to none of these causes.“

"The nature of my experiments precluded thepossibility of thechanges being produced by atmospheric disturbances, as has beenrashly asserted by some. It was sometime afterward when the thoughtflashed upon my mind that the disturbances I had observed might bedue to an intelligent control. “

"Although I could not at the time decipher their meaning, it wasimpossible for me to think of them as having been entirelyaccidental. The feeling is constantly growing on me that I had beenthe first to hear the greeting of one planet to another. A purposewas behind these electrical signals."

So based on the statements given by Tesla we can just assume that he might be doing so, but regarding that we just haven’t found such strong evidences based on which we can actually say that Nikola Tesla might me communicating with the other world.
