Is Netflix Replacing Bollywood?

Netflix has become a great source of entertainment in recent times. It is a platform for movies and series to appeal a large section of the audience. Netflix is an online community that has become a big player in web cinema. Launched on April 14, 1998, but has gained popularity in India in 2014. Netflix is credited with great importance in the Indian market.

Some of the Netflix shows have overruled the Bollywood movies. The shows like Ghoul, Sacred Games, 13 Reasons Why, Lust stories, have got a good response by the audience. With the arrival of Netflix and it's raising popularity showcase a threat to the Bollywood Industry. But seeing that Netflix is subscription-based with Rs. 500 to 800 per month subscription cost many people couldn't afford it.

Though being an online platform, easy to use and surf still people prefer going out with friends and family and watch movies on big screens.

Bollywood being the face of Indian cinema is evolving with time. Started with the motion picture in 1913, with the movie Raja Harishchandra it is now making movies like 3 idiots, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Bahubali. People have shifted their focus from drama to well-written scripts. People now want movies with great stories that give a strong message.

Netflix is stepping up it's game by including these movies on their platform to get the audience's attention. Watching movies online saves the time of traveling and going to theaters but it does not give the same experience as people will have seeing the movie on the big screen. The best advantage of Netflix over Bollywood is that people can stream content on their phone, laptop, tablet anywhere and anytime. Therefore it can now be called 'The Moving Television.'

Netflix is not just an entertainment company but is a mixture of everything which is best, it has the best directors, best storytellers, best scripts. It knows what you want even before you realize. It is that imaginary friend that fills up the empty void and provides one with company. It can entertain you the way you want and at time you wish for.

Even after having all these advantages there is surely a choice left upon users that they may either choose this or that but we can't say that Netflix will be able to uproot Bollywood entirely. Bollywood is too big industry to end in a day.
