No one writes in isolation. Without even knowing it, people present ideas for teaching examples, better ways to get a point across, provide feedback on what works and what doesn’t. Writing this article may be a solitary procedure, but it certainly can’t be done without help.

The main objective of the author is to presentsome successful examples of those which emerges as sunshine from the darkness were we can be able to understand how, we can keep on trying and not losing the hope, will power, endurance, persistence and fate. The Kargil war….. stands out as perhaps the most valuable contribution to our military literature since independence. General V.P Malik and the units fought of the front and to everyone involved in making a powerful comeback after the uncertain looking win deserves credit for a frank and refreshing analysis of the first limited war fought by the two nuclear powered states. The theory about the possibilities of the further conflict will go a long way in shaping India’s military strategy. Comprehensive from the shoulder a must read for everyone the great fought Kargil war over uncertain and seamless terrain will be remembered forever. As a part of my society it is my foremost duty to brief you with this most un-cinematic dramatic warfare. The troops has done a commendable job by providing definitive glimpse into the politico-military-bureaucratic equations prevalent to the then India during the Kargil war.

In February 1999, Pakistani army personnel disguised as jihadi mujahids infiltrated into the mountainous Kargil and occupied by the vantage points. Their intrusion triggered a limited war between the newest nuclear states. It was a bitter battle; one that threw up important lessons to India and its defence strategies and preparedness, as also it responses to the conflicts as this. As if India has witnessed Kashmir bleeding with the number of life before. On 30 September 1997, the unusual bit, however, was the intensity of shelling and targeting of the civil population of the town.

KARGIL WAS A LIMITED WAR- THE FIRST OF ITS KIND AFTER INDIA AND PAKISTAN TESTED THEIR NUCLEAR

weapons. The war took place despite the fact that, only couple of months before both nations had signed Lahore Declaration, an agreement recognizing the principle of building an environment of peace and security and resolving all bilateral conflicts. This type of conflict has now become a more likely operational norm in a strategic environment where large-scale capture of territories, forced to change of regimes extensive military damage to the adversary is ruled out politically.

The war will always be remembered for its strategic and tactical surprise, the self-imposed national strategy of restraint in keeping the war limited to the Kargil-Siachen sector, military strategy and planning, and the dedication, determination and daring junior leadership of unmatched bravery at the tactical level. In fiercely fought combat actions, on the most difficult terrain that gave immense advantage to the enemy, army was able to evict Pakistani troops from most of their surreptitiously occupied positions. The Pakistani leadership was forced to sue for ceasefire and seek withdrawal of its troops from the remaining area. Operation Vijay – the indian codename for the war – was a blend of strong and determined political, military and diplomatic actions, which enabled us to transform an adverse situation into military and diplomatic victory.

The war in Kargil will go down in the history of the india as a saga of unmatched bravery,

grit, determination displayed on the battlefield by the Indian Army; a symbol of great pride and inspiration. The main credit for achieving success to the units that fought on the front. Behind the blaze of their glory, not much seen but of cardinal importance, were the yeoman contributions of the multitude of agencies providing vital inputs such as combat support, communications and logistics. And also recognition also needs to be given to those behind-the-scenes individuals whose responsibility was to draw up strategies, formulate battle plans and facilitate them.

“Due to word limit many more battalions and individuals cannot to be featured in this article. I Salute That Pure And Mighty Soul”.
