“Get the food you want, from the Tampa restaurants you love, at uber speed.”-UberEats
“Never have a bad meal.”-Zomato
“When you are hungry, think of us!-Swiggy
Everyone is startled by the huge discounts offered on food delivery apps, everyone loves home delivered food the stress of cooking food daily is all covered by Zomato, Swiggy, Uber eats, etc. But do we ever pay attention that how do these apps deliver the food to us at such a low amount when compared to the restaurant price? These food companies have made easy and hassle-free food deliveries for us but they are paying through the nose to get it done.

UberEats CEO says that because of stiff competition from Zomato, Swiggy, Food Panda, etc the company is funding the customer and the restaurant. According to OfficeChai, Zomato suffers Rs.25 on each order on Delivery costs alone. It is very obvious that all these companies are running from huge losses in the Indian market. Currently, every company is earning from Investors and trying to reduce their losses.

Why they are Unbeatable?

Everyone loves enjoying food in the comfort zone of their homes. Nobody wants to go out to struggle with the traffic which one can get stuck for 4-5 hours. Online food delivery is the preference of our generations. In cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, etc people are busy with their fast-going life so they order food online to save time also outstation students prefer online delivery apps because of low prices and huge variety.

Problems Faced

But there are some problems which are faced by both customers and the company. Sometimes the customers are unhappy with the quality and quantity of food, delivery service, late delivery, no delivery, unhappy customer support, etc. And sometimes the customer tries to cheat. They will order food when they are standing in front of the restaurant to save money and avail discounts. The customers and well as the sellers both should respect each other to run this business of food industry successfully.

What is cloud-kitchen?

For many of us, it’s a new term. Cloud Kitchen is a kitchen in which food is prepared only for online orders. They have a base kitchen that delivers food online. They don’t do dine-ins. They have low investment, low work-force, and capital. Cloud kitchens are becoming a major hit because they are partnering with these online food delivery apps.

Who’s at the top of the mountain?

According to the reports of KalaGato, Indians prefer Swiggy more than Zomato. Swiggy also added a new feature to schedule their meals in advance.

Ola’s Food Panda has secured the 2nd rank and Zomato has secured 3rd in the food delivery market.
Zomato may run a slow race in the Indian Market but it has expanded its business in other countries also. Uber Eats is an outside company so it is facing problems competing with food giants such as Zomato, Swiggy and Food Panda.

Also according to news, Uber is planning to sell Uber Eats in India and Swiggy and Zomato are competing to acquire it.

The future of food delivery is online food provided by these huge companies competing against each other. Huge competition is between these companies and this benefits the consumers and the partner restaurants. Also, we should give a hand in this business and play a fair sport to increase the food industry in this country.
