HOW'S THE JOSH!

When it was announced that a movie is going to be made on the Uri attacks which took place in 2016 where 19 soldiers were martyred by 4 militants who trespassed in the Indian Military Camp, it was clear that there will be some great story to be told. People had high hopes with this movie as they were infuriated with the attacks.

And when it was released on January 11,2019 , it surprised everybody with a magnificent and thrilling content. People were not stopping themselves from praising the perfect storyline along with a wonderful cast.

This movie has a special fan base. This was a perfect way to remember the sacrifices made by our brave soldeirs.

Uri:The Surgical Strike tells us about the operation that was conducted by Indian Army on the Pakistani soil which destroyed their terror camps. The movie is directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The estimated budget of this film was 45 crores. But it surpassed every record and earned around 342 crores. This was a big achievement for a debutant director.

It was just like other movies but with a level up in action and direction. What I liked the most in this film is that the story is not exaggerated and all the cast have done good justice to their roles. Every part of the 16' attacks was clearly shown with the mindblowing action sequences. Since this movie is close to our hearts, so Aditya made sure that emotions were well used.

VICKY 'MYSTICAL' KAUSHAL

A major credit has to be given to Vicky Kaushal for making the role of Major Vihaan Shergill unforgettable. He perfectly played the role and was an important factor in Uri's success. I don't know why but there is something special about this actor. He tries to create his own zone whenever he plays a character. To act in that zone is something which is not less than a talent.

Vicky underwent an extensive military training for 5 months to gain weight and stamina for the role. This is enough for us to appreciate his dedication towards the role. He got himself completely into the role of a military officer as we saw him leading a team with perfection.

Playing an army officer was not new for Kaushal as in his last film Raazi, he played the Pakistani Officer opposite Alia Bhatt. But to play it in a movie, which was a tribute to the surgical strikes carried by our soldiers, was difficult. Depicting Real life incidents in Reel life is quite a work to do but Aditya did it with his directional skills. The most important thing was to give Vicky a space where he could make some changes to the role according to his specifications.

This was a different war film as compared to others as it contained many action sequences which were not a part of earlier war films. The genre was specifically action which demanded an energised performance from the whole cast. And Vicky added intensity and excellence to his role which garnered him appreciation from the fellow Bollywood actors & actresses as well as the Prime Minister of our country.

PEOPLE'S REACTIONS ON THE FILM

After it's release, people acknowledged the acting of all actors and actresses in the movie. This movie is declared as one of the best patriotic films based on true events. The storyline, screenplay and direction was the best thing in this movie for which Aditya Dhar is fully responsible (this was his first project).

Apart from Vicky Kaushal, other artists also made their presence felt. These include Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Kirti Kulhari. Paresh Rawal was as usual good with his roles. He portrayed the role of Ajit Doval, the man behind the surgical strike. Yami too essayed her role as an undercover intelligence agent.

It was the debut film of Mohit Raina who is popular as Lord Shiva on TV serials. He played Major Karan Kashyap , sniper in Major Vihaan's squad. Critics as well as the audience loved him. The major reason is that he wanted to become an Army Officer from the beginning but his dream was not fulfilled. So, it was a major determination for him to make his role more effective.

One thing people liked in this movie was that there was no such jingoism which is common in other war films. There were some dialogues but the film is rather mature. Viewers were tired of watching the army officers who thump their chests to show love for their country.

URI : The Surgical Strike is a must watch film. After the movie, don't forget to answer the question "How's the Josh"!
