These people are listed as iconics. They have created their legacy, not only in India but in abroad countries too.

So, here is a list of top 5 villains that Bollywood was lucky to have.

1.AMRISH PURI

Even children remember this man for his negative roles. Yes, we are talking about Amrish Puri. He was an important figure in the Indian Cinema and Theatre. He is remembered for playing iconic villainous roles in Hindi Cinema as well as in International film industries.

Some of the roles that were portrayed by him were ‘Mogambo’ in Mr. India, ‘Thakral’ in Meri Jung, ‘Balwant Rai’ in Ghayal and ‘Thakur Durjan Singh’ in Karan Arjun.

In 2005, he died due to blood cancer.

On his birthday i.e, 22nd June, 2019, he was honoured with a Google Doodle to mark his 87th birthday.

2.AMJAD KHAN

It might be difficult for some people to recognize him but let me give you a hint. Gabbar Singh. So now you got it right!

Amjad Khan was an actor and director. He got his big break in the year 1975 when he was offered the role of Gabbar Singh in Sholay. He was critically acclaimed for his dialogue delivery and he is still remembered for his dialogues and mannerisms.

He acted as villain in other films too which were a hit at the box office such as ‘Raj Singh Kidnapper’ in Inkar, ‘Avtar Singh’ in Des Pardes, ‘Ranjit Singh’ in Satte Pe Satta and ‘Damu’ in Naseeb.

Due to heart failure, he died at the age of 51. Even today, people are making memes and spoofs on Gabbar Singh. This is when we know his legacy and the brilliant work done by him.

3.SHAKTI KAPOOR

Shakti Kapoor was one of the best villains in 1980s despite of playing the roles Nandu and Crime Master Goggo.

He started his career with the negative role RD in the film Rocky. It was a break for him. With his roles, he changed the very definition of villainous roles in Indian Cinema. He played roles such as ‘Vikram Singh’ in Qurbaani, ‘Shakti Gopaldas’ in Himmatwala, ‘Jimmy’ in Hero.

It would be so great to see Shakti Kapoor once again in another negative role.

4.GULSHAN GROVER

Often known as the ‘bad man’ of Bollywood, Gulshan Grover has successfully made a transition from Bollywood to Hollywood.

Some of the roles played by him are ‘Kesariya Villayati’ in Ram Lakhan, ‘Shankar Bihari’ in Dilwale, ‘Tyson’ in Mohra and ‘King Don’ in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi.

I don't know why, but I feel he was born to act as a villain in movies. He has a charisma to be a villain, yet recieve a lot of love from the audience.

5. PRAKASH RAJ

He is an actor, director and producer who has contributed in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. He was notably an antagonist when he stepped in Bollywood.

He has been offered with mostly negative roles in Hindi films. He portrayed the character of 'Gani Bhai' in Wanted which was appreciated by the audience. Then we saw him as 'Jaikanth Shikre' in Singham. I can assure you that no one could have played this role better than Praksh Raj. Other roles played by him are 'Thakur Bachcha' in Dabangg 2, 'Shetty' in Mumbai Mirror and 'Karan' in Entertainment.

He is a versatile actor but his forte is portraying the role of a villain in movie.

Villain yet not Villainous
