What is a WebSeries?

INTERNET is all i can say. The content which we see on the internet for our entertainment purpose usually in a form of episodes is a web series. For different genres, there are different stories that are viewed by the suitable audience.

The present scenario is that people prefer watching web content over movies and serials on TV's. The reason behind its popularity is that it attracts the audience by bringing in something new which is a change for them. For example, TVF's Tripling which was aired in 2016 was a hit as it was a new concept. It was about the three siblings who were not on talking terms greatly but when they met, things went upside down for them on their hilarious journey. The actors Sumeet Vyas, Maanvi Gagroo, Amol Parashar were praised for their acting skills. Although Season 2 didn't get that much appreciation as it came after a gap of 3 years.

If I talk about another one then that would definitely be Mirzapur. It featured on Amazon Prime. The show consisted of 9 episodes and the story revolved around a famous don of Mirzapur, Akhandanand Tripathi and the hunger of his son, Munna to take his throne. Some incidents led to another and led to the crossing of paths of Munna with Guddu and Bablu, the protagonist of the show. This show got an ImdB rating of 8.5 which is considered good.

There are so many other shows which are regarded as hit and whose story and direction was loved by the critics.

The best thing about these web series is that they are of shorter format and usually have limited episodes (we can always have some exceptions). They broadcast certain number of episodes in one season and usually come again in next season with a different story. Not like some of the TV serials (we all know it is not 'some') that go on for like forever. They just want to expand it for years by altering the story despite of giving an end to it.

We have so many examples with us ( Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma, Shakti, Kumkum Bhagya) that have completed 1000 episodes and are still running.

Be it College Romance or Girls Hostel or Pitcher's, Youtube has given us the best content. Thanks to the creators of the these channels which gives us such amazing shows.

TVF was the first channel which started making web series for youtube. It's first one was Permanent Roommates which was loved by everyone. It was considered as the best drama series which even had situational comedy. Following this, they released Pitcher's which was their another hit. TVF gave a setback to the mainstream channels and people were saying " this is what we want TVF".

Youtube saw coming of various channels after this which entertained its audience with their content.

The Timeliner's College Romance, Stags , Engineering Girls, Flames are examples where we can get versatile content. These series were loved by people as everyone binge watches Youtube to some extent. These series were a matter of 4-5 episodes but have impacted its viewers so much that they demand its second season.

Girliyappa came with an all girls web series Girl's Hostel which was also appreciated by the people.

Like these, there are many more series which gives an option to the people to choose from within. I can say that Youtube is an ideal platform which gives it's viewers the best experience. It provides with the content that suits the younger generation.
