Why Underrated?

Okay. So some of you will be little confused as to what it actually means. The simplest answer can be that these actors didn't get that recognition inspite of their unbelievable acting skills. We can say that they were unable to snatch the limelight from the stardom of the leading celebrities.

Bollywood has given us such amazing artists who with their performance knows how to steal the hearts of their audience.

It's not like that the reknowed celebrities aren't good. But they are always in the limelight which takes away the opportunity from these actors and actresses. Let's take an example- In the movie BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN, Nawazuddin Siddiqui played the role of a Pakistani Reporter, Chand Nawab and he did a great justice to his role which no one noticed. And if we talk about TANU WEDS MANU Series, all the credits were given to Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan while Jimmy Shergill won the audiences hearts with his acting.

So it is a fact that Bollywood now a days is doing good. Thanks to these wonderful actors who give such amazing performances.

Let's move ahead and talk about some of the finest actors we have got in Bollywood who were not noticed like the Khan's, Kapoor's

  1. Raj Kumar Rao

This actor has been considered as one of the finest actors of Bollywood by critics. His debut film was Love, Sex aur Dhoka which was a major breakthrough for him. After this, he got a little recognition. There is a thing about him I like the most; he adapts himself so gracefully to every role he plays. Like in Shahid, he played a role of lawyer and in Newton, he played the role of an election officer. He tries to go being versatile in his field. The movies which he has given like Newton, Gangs of Wasseypur, Citylights, Bareilly ki Barfi, Stree were very well acclaimed by the audience. I mean he is brilliant to play whatever role he is told to do. In a movie of so many actors, he was able to leave his imprint ( Shamshad ).

If he goes on in this pace then he can be compared with the other fellows in B-town.

2. Pankaj Tripathi

When we talk about him, the thing which comes to our mind is that how he does every role so perfectly. He is actually a gem to Bollywood. People recognised him from his role of Sultan Qureshi from Gangs of Wasseypur. And then he went on to give hits with movies like Fukrey, Masaan, Nil Battey Sannata, Newton, Bareilly ki Barfi, Stree, Luka Chuppi. He his famous for his natural acting and people love him. He sometimes does wonders with the roles he portrays despite of his age (42 years) like in Luka Chuppi. It has become a trend now a days that we find Pankaj in one out of two movies either as a supporting or a lead actor.

He is not only limited to Bollywood but also has done wonders in the web series. How could we forget him when we talk about web series! Akhandanand Tripathi urf Kaleen Bhaiya will be enough to say. He made everyone love him with his role in Mirzapur which aired on Amazon Prime. He was on fire actually. And the role of Guru Ji in Sacred Games which aired on Netflix was another level of savageness. Then he tried a different genre by playing the role of a lawyer, Madhav Mishra in Criminal Justice which was aired on Hotstar.

My personal favourite is Pankaj Tripathi and i would love to see him in more web series. He is good. Isn't he?

3. Vijay Raaz

I could imagine him as a don in real life too as he gives his 100% in his roles. With his gruff baritone voice, he is best suited for some typical roles. Like he played a don in Delhi Belly as well as Dishoom. Whatever he does, it seems as if no one could do justice to the role just like Raaz does. He got his breakthrough in 2001 with the movie Monsoon Wedding where he played the character Dubeyji. He is even famous for his comic timing in the films like Run, Dhamaal, Bombay to Goa, Welcome. He came with a surprise when he did the role of Coach Harry in Soorma. After so many years in Bollywood, he is still struggling to make a big impact. But we know how good he is.

He has even done web series like in Made in Heaven where he played the role of Jauhari. In a Netflix Originals Chopsticks, he played Fayaz Bhai, another gangster. Why the obsession of playing a gangster! But we love his performance so much. Right!

There could be a long list but these are my favourites. It is clear that these actors are known for their work and not their celebrity status. Because of their work and talent, we want more from them. It is the era of these underrated actors who will outshine in the coming years and then we will say, "Bina Pankaj Tripathi (just an example) ke to maza hi nahi ata."
