Fossil, the great watch company we know about has released 2 new Android Wear watches yesterday. If you remember, Android Wear was a pretty damn good idea by Google when they brought Android to your wrist with the help of Watches running Android. These smartwatches started off with a bang, but slowly the craze faded away.
When premium companies like Fossil started entering the Smartphone business, things got interesting again. As these companies are specialized in making watches, people started getting attracted to the smartwatches again. Coming back to the watches, as I mentioned above they released 2 new models namely Carlyle HR & Julianna HR. The first one is for males, and the latter is for females.
Fossil Carlyle HR
Fossil Julianna HR
These are Fossil’s 5th Gen smartwatches, and following the previous generations, these watches too have a very premium look. Both of them have a 44m dial, 1.28-inch OLED display, a rotating power button which helps in navigation, and a stainless steel body. The watches have a bunch of sensors starting from NFC, Activity Tracker, Heart Rate Monitor, Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Gyroscope, a microphone for voice calls, and all the other basic sensors.
Coming to the specs, it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 processor, 1GB of RAM (which is a lot for these smartwatches). 8GB of Storage. And 3ATM water resistance which means you can take it with you in a swimming pool.
Coming to the features, it has a lot of them. Let's get started:
Built-in GPS which helps with navigation in Google Maps.
An app called ‘Cardiogram’ which helps you monitor your heart-rate.
In-built speakers for Google Assistant responses, for taking calls, and for playing music!
Supports rapid charging which will give you 80% of charge in just an hour.
4 battery-saving modes which are Daily, Extended, Custom, and Time-only.
You can see Fossil has not left anything which can be put into the smartwatch. They have made it fully feature loaded. As you can expect from premium companies, these watches come at a premium price. These watches are retailing in the US for $295 from the company's own official website. I hate to mention it, but there are no signs of these smartwatches arriving in India.
