The Narendra Modi led Union government has finally given it's nod to the much awaited Patna metro rail project. Bihar which currently holds a population of 10 .41 crores is soon going become a metropolitan city. The people of Patna are happier than ever as the metro project is going to boost the transportation system.

Corridors
The Patna metro will have two corridors, the Danapur-Meethapur corridor and the Patna railway station and the new ISBT corridor.

Cost And Time Estimate
The cost of Patna metro is estimated to be 33,366 crores and it is expected that it will be operational within five years.

Danapur- Meethapur Corridor
The Danapur-Meethapur corridor will be 16.94 km long and it will connect the eastern parts of the city to the western parts. It will have eleven metro stations out of which eight will be elevated and three will be underground.

Patna station-ISBT corridor
The Patna railway station and the new ISBT corridor will be 14.45 km long and it will connect the southern parts of the city to northern parts. It will have twelve metro stations out of which nine will be elevated and three will be underground.

How will it impact the real estate

Once the Patna metro is operational the cost of lands in and around metro stations is expected to increase significantly. The prices of lands might double even before the completion of the project.

A boon for common people
Patna metro will be like a boon to the daily travellers of the city who are fed up with the problem of traffic congestion. The Patna metro project is another example which testifies the changing picture of Bihar. As for now we can say that an upcoming lifeline is on its way.
