A lot of problem starts with skin color. People want to be fair and not darker, it’s okay with it but the problem is they stay away from people who have black skin. Discrimination based on skin color is also known as colorism or shadeism. Colorism or shadeism can be present in social actions, practices, or political systems that support the expression of discriminatory practices or laws. Sometimes people with dark skin tones are treated differently just because of their skin color. Although we live in the 21st century, still people have a feeling of colorism. It’s not only about India but the whole world has racism based on skin color. In American and European countries, the people have light skin tones and so they consider Africans and Indians as inferior. I really don’t understand how someone can judge another person based on his/her skin color. Companies also take persons who have lighter skin tone just to advertise their products. I mean seriously? Can you make a black skin turn into white skin using those products? And if it is so then why don’t these companies take black skinned people to advertise their product?

It’s not just companies or products but it is our mind that allows us to keep these thoughts. Not only this, some people make friends or talk to another person by seeing their skin tone. People like black dresses, black cars, black accessories like purses, they like everything in black but black skin. A lot of people need to understand that there is no such thing as superior or inferior or I can say ugly or beautiful based on skin color. Every person has their own look no matter what skin color that person has. Even the darkest people are beautiful. Rather than seeing someone’s color, one should see their heart, attitudes, and their abilities and other inner qualities.
