Pimples, acne, dark spots, oily skin, we have had them all at one point of our life or other. Thing is everyone has different skin types and depending on that we have our own share of skin problems. Not all of us fall under the category of glowing and gifted skin and hence must take good care of it to prevent any skin related problems. It is best if you start following a skincare routine when you reach your teens because it is the when human body goes through rapid changes and the oil secreting glands are at their max, which is one of the main reasons why you start getting pimples when you are a teen. Another reasons why one could be facing skin related problems are eating an unhealthy diet including a lot of greasy food, lack of proper sleep, stress, dehydration etc. Which is why is is very important to have a skin care routine and follow it religiously.
The first and foremost step that comes into a skin care routine is cleansing. Some people just like to squirt a blob of cleanser on their hands to lather and apply on their face. But I personally feel that one should cleanse their face with the help of a damp cotton pad and gliding it around the face gently.
Then you must exfoliate your skin with a gentle scrub. You don't need to do this step regularly, once or twice a week is just about enough. Be gentle with the scrub while exfoliating it with your skin or else it will cause damage on your skin, which I definitely think you don't want. Scrubbing the face peels away the layer of the dead skin cells leaving behind a fresh skin.
Then use a toner to tighten up the pores on your face and balance out the pH level on your skin. Take a cotton pad and pour the toner on it. Then gently swipe it all over your face.
You can also use cooling eye pads, regular face packs or peel off masks once or twice a week to give your skin the extra boost that it needs.
Lather on some face serum or cold pressed organic oil to provide your skin with nutrition and rejuvenation. Various different types are available in the markets these days, pick one that caters to your needs.
Then you can pack on some hydrating moisturizer to keep your skin nice and supple. Do not forget to apply a sunscreen if you are leaving the house with a good UV protection on top of your moisturizer. Also, use a chapstick with spf to protect your lips. People often forget this step.
Don't forget to drink lots of water and avoid going out in the direct sunlight to protect your skin.
