In another eye -opening session that I attended at the Jaipur Literature Festival, here are some of the insights gained-

I could relate to her talk when she spoke of developing an environment which provides a safe space for survivors instead of trying to suppress them. When we normalise rape culture, be it by those atrocious Bollywood item number songs which reflect the female as on object to be used and thrown as they please, or through phrases like ‘She asked for it’. Never judge a character by the amount of clothing they put on, for if they always ask for it by wearing short clothes, women in fully- covered burkhas should have never gotten raped in the first place.
