In this write-up I will be explaining about homemade ayurvedic remedies for cold and cough.

You will require only a handful of ingredients and the result you get will be amazing.

Ginger Tea

It is very easy to make ginger tea. Take 2 small pieces of ginger and slice it thinly. Then boil the ginger in 2 cups of water. Add some tea powder to it if you wish to do so. Remove the ginger pieces if you don't want the pieces to be present in water and your ginger tea is ready. Ginger Tea helps in drying running nose, cough and cold.

Spiced Tea

Ingredients needed are Tulsi, Ginger and Blackpepper. Prepare a black tea and mix these ingredients into it. Tulsi's medicinal property heals common cold and cough.

Honey,Lemon Juice and Warm Water

Prepare lemon juice using warm water and instead of adding sugar add honey. Honey has a special ingredient in itself which is enough to get rid of your running nose, cough and cold. It is the best solution to control the same.

Tulsi,Honey,Lemon and Shallot Solution

This is the best solution you can try for severe cough and cold. You have to take a handful of tulsi and soak it in water and then you have to grind it. Then take its juice alone. Keep it aside and then take the extract from 2 large lemon and juice from a handful of shallots. Pour these two into already prepared tulsi extract. Mix these 3 ingredients very well and then add honey(4tbsp) into this mixture. Blend together using a spoon. Have this mixture and I assure you cold and cough will vanish within two days.

Carrot Juice

This is a 'not so common' remedy for cold and cough. But carrot has vitamins and minerals which helps in relieving common cold and cough. Take 2 carrots and peel it. Chop the carrots into small pieces and then along with water, blend it in a food processor. Don't add any ingredients such as sugar. Drink it as it is.

Jaggery and Black Pepper Solution

Boil water with black pepper and cumin powder. While boiling add jaggery into it. If you have a chest congestion this is one among the best solution you can try. Consume this solution when warm.

Flaxseeds,Honey and Lemon Juice Solution

Boil water along with flaxseeds. When it thickens, remove it from the flame. Then add honey as well as lemon juice. Consume this mixture for cough relief.

Milk and Turmeric

I personally hate this taste as I hate milk. But to say the truth this mixture, a glass of milk and a tablespoon of turmeric is very effective for sore throat and cold. Drink turmeric milk before sleeping, it helps in faster recovery from cold and cough.
