We all have heard from the very early part of our life that nature is the art of god. And yes, to a large extent the quote is very precise. Today most of the people are looking for alternatives to prescription or medicines and tablets when it comes to taking care of their health. Herbal medicines were used for thousands of years in the treatment and prevention of disease.

We have many methods which are
alternatives to chemical drugs or expensive treatments. Indian Ayurveda,
Chinese home remedies are very good examples among those which were developed
many years ago. One more advantage of the
home remedies or natural treatment is
that they don’t have any side effects.

Let's take a look at some of the best home remedies easily available at every Indian home.

Turmeric

Turmeric is known as a powerful anti-inflammatory with multiple medicinal uses. In Ayurvedic medicine, it is believed to balance the three doshas and is taken either internally as a powder or externally in the form of a cream or topical ointment. It is commonly used to treat respiratory problem as well as liver disorders, allergies, and coughs, and is also considered an excellent aid to the digestive system.

Coriander

In India coriander is referred
to as dhanya means “the rich one”, and has many therapeutic as well as
culinary uses. In Ayurvedic medicine, commonly used for fevers and indigestion.
The seeds and oil are the mostly used components of coriander, but the
leaves or so called cilantro – can also be used, especially in cooking. For a quick home
remedy, you can try a teaspoon of roasted coriander and cumin seeds to get rid
of abdominal cramps or gas after a meal!

Ginger

Just like turmeric, ginger has
strong anti-inflammatory benefits. When nursing an injury I like to increase
the use of ginger in my daily habits. I add fresh ginger to my cooking and
prepare a tea of 2 inches of fresh ginger, 1 tsp Lose Green Tea, 1 liter hot water, a squeeze of fresh lemon and raw honey

to taste, in the morning which I keep warm in a thermos and sip throughout the
day. Another use of ginger is to add a few slices in your hot salt bath or put a couple of tablespoons of ginger juice in your bath. If you have sensitive skin please be careful as raw and dry ginger can irritate your skin.

The number of home remedies and their benefits in ayurvedic or other art of medicine is uncountable. There is one more saying that:-

“Take your food as medicines otherwise,
You have to take medicines as food.”
So if we want to live a happy and healthy life we have to maintain a healthy diet as well as healthy lifestyle.

After all, health means wealth….
So instead of wasting money and health on costly drigs and medicines, we should invest some time on effective home remedies.
