Manchester City Football Club is based in Manchester, England, that competes in Premier League, the top flight of English football. It was founded in 1880 as st. Marks, in 1887 it became Ardwick Association Football club and Manchester city in 1894. The club plays its home games at the City of Manchester Stadium in east Manchester, they moved there in 2003, having played at Maine Road since 1923.
Manchester City mainly fought for relegation and getting promotion in the top division. Unlike their rival Manchester United, city didn’t have a brilliant history and fans. Having regained their Premier League status in the early 2000s, Manchester City was purchased in 2008 by Abu Dhabi United Group for £210 million and received considerable financial investment.
The club has won six domestic league titles. Under the management of Pep Guardiola they won the Premier League in 2018 becoming the only Premier League team to attain 100 points in a single season. In 2019, they won four trophies, completing an unprecedented sweep of all domestic trophies in England and becoming the first English men's team to win the domestic treble. Manchester City's revenue was the fifth highest of a football club in the world in the 2017–18 season at €527.7 million. In 2018, Forbes estimated the club was the fifth most valuable in the world at $2.47 billion. Manchester City has taken full advantage of out of form teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham. They have been the team to beat and although they have failed to show that in the champions League, the team has exceptional players with exceptional qualities. The rich owners have definitely helped Pep to rebuild the team. Man city has a solid foundation with an incredible youth academy but have failed to utilize it. Future looks bright for Man city and fans would be hoping pep guides man city win the champions League.
The club ran into trouble recently when a source claimed that owners of man City had bribed UEFA officials to escape ffp punishments. It is also claimed that the club has broken ffp rules multiple times but have got away with it, they have pumped in billions of dollars in last decades but it all looks shady. The fans would be hoping such claims are false but if they do turn out to be true they would be stripped from all the major honors. Man City has challenged it and would be hoping for a better outcome.
