Why Shahid Kapoor Chose To Be A Part Of Sandeep Reddy's Kabir Singh

Shahid Kapoor entitled as the "Chocolaty Hero" of bollywood in the beginning years of his acting carrier, proved himself finely to be capable of acting in any genre on film, be it "Ishq Vishq", "Vivah", "Jab We Met", "Kaminey, "Udta Panjab", "Haider", "Padmavat", and now recently in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga'sbollywood debut film "Kabir Singh" remake of a Telugu film "Arjun Reddy" released in the year 2017

Shahid revealed in an interview,

He is a fan of film "Arjun Reddy, as a viewer when he saw the film he connect with the film and especially the character of arjun, very strongly, and then he could feel that how an audience feels when he/she watches the film. Then he realized that these are such films which can make big impact, as it made an emotional impact on him, even though it was in a different language.

The challenge is to make remake of a film which is already been made, which is very character driven. Usually it is easier to make remake which are plot driven. In Plot driven remakes you can make the film on the bases of the story. Butwhen you make a character driven film it is based on the emotion and the emotional graph of the character, and you'll never be sure, how it will come through.

As "Kabir Singh" is Sandeep Reddy's first film in bollywood, it does come from his personal space for him. So it was the expression of his feelings and his take on this heartbroken lover who goes on a self destructive trip, after there was a problem that happened in his love story.

To be able to hold on the core emotion of the character which is esentially the thrust and the engine of the film is very challenging. So for shahid and the filmaker's biggest challenge is to hold on to the soul of the film, the reason why the audience loves the film, which is it's soul, it's character, as it was not all about the plot and the story.

When you look at the trailer of "Kabir Singh" the film seems to be quite predictable, there's nothing kind of suspence of what will happen further. The thrill is all contained into the characters I.e Preeti (Kiara Advani) and Kabir (Shahid Kapoor).

When you'll watch the film how it holds you and sucks you in the time and how you travel emotionally with the journey of Kabir and Preeti, that makes you feel, what you feel about the film.

The teaser was only setting out the attitude and tone of the film. It never really brought aut the emotional aspects , the heart of the film, it was more like the aggression and the passion of Kabir. But the trailor is really the heart of the film, unlike the teaser the Trailor has a lot of emotion, intensity and soft romance.

"It's really important for people to connect with the film from their heart.

Coz I remember when Sandeep made this film, he didn't this too much, he was like, it was shot from the heart. He wanted to express himself. And that is what we call the angst and the vibe if the film. So if that feeling comes through, when I saw the film, it held me like that, it was taking me through that, I felt, good about that whatever reaction the film is getting, atleast the audience can feel the heart of the characters, which is the crux of the film. There's a strong reaction and people are reactive to it in an intence manner, to me that is a very heartening sign"
