Election

Election plays an important role in an democracy. In fact, through elections people participate in formation of government. Elections are held after every five years and through which people elect representatives for parliament state assemblies and local bodies

Democracy is for the people and by the people and governance in democracy depends upon representation.

In India, every citizen above the age of 18 years has the right to vote and it cannot be discriminated on the basis of caste, community and sex. The whole election procedure is conducted by the election commission of India and it is the apex body. The candidate who want to stand in election has to filetheir nomination papers to election commission. The election campaign is started through election meeting, posters, pre election speeches and they also use television and personal contact with the common people , through radio speeches are conducted.The main objective for is to explain people about theirschemes ,plans and many such things.The election manifesto clears the picture of party like what they will do for the country in their tenure.

Every party has their own symbol. And it has some significant impact also, but their are some parties who held the election independently and their symbol is given by election commission.The election commission sets the entire schedule of election and it gives code of conduct. Every candidate has to strictly follow that code of conduct. In fact if they fail in it they are liable to be punished. Election commission is a constitutional body. They prepare voter ID card.They appoint election staff to see the whole election procedure.

Election is our right . We should actively participate in it and select candidates who can run the government properly. Elections are held to formulate government in a country, by selecting and casting vote for the representative of the parties competiting. Every country had its own representative who are elected by the people and they are elected to run the country and to take important decisions regarding the nation. The need to select an individual to represent a nation is that the individual can take decisions for them as every individual has its own job. Without these representative there will be utter chaos as in India there are approximately 1.62 billion citizens and an individual can't taje decision if they have to ask or convince all the people of the country. This will not be possible as it will take alot of time and every individual has its own opinions and problems which can create problems in taking decisions. So the representative are chosen and elected so as to take decisions regarding the whole nation as whole and thinking about the benefits and drawbacks caused by decisions. The representative has to take decisions gor the majority impartially as he doesn't represent a single person, city, state, etc he represents the whole country and has to take measures anf decisions for the benefit of the majority. Every vote makes the difference as the representative is chosen by calculating the amount of votes the individual got. So every Individual in a country can make a difference by just casting his/her vote. Voting should be done by all citizens above 18 and make a difference in their lifes and improve yhe nations problems by casting and electing the individual of their preference.
