Being fake has now become a trend

We put the side of ours which is perfect

Knowing perfectly well that it is just a pretend.

We see someone doing great and we wanna be that

It has become a circle which will ever end.

We don't look up to people for inspiration

But we have made everyone our competition.

Ending up in the hole of desperation.

We are desperate to be valued, loved, understood.

When did this happen?

How did we become this person

The person we never wanted to be

The person we were scared of

The person who is sad and hopeless

Has no sense of regard and Is helpless.

Who has no human connection

Just some humans with an internet connection

We are connected but virtually

Yes, it keeps us updated

But we are not the same

We are now outdated.

We try to put our whole world in our phones

And we end up being trapped and we mourn.

Mourn the death of our real selves

As we strive for perfection which is impossible,

We know that damn well.

Judging our value on the basis of a few numbers

Everyone is depressed huh, no wonder.

In the quest of a happy person on the net

Look, we have made such a blunder

We no longer converse, we just chat

We take pictures not for memories

But for that perfect story on snapchat.

Feelings are now emojis

Expressions are now short forms

In the battle of the fake and the real

We are constantly torn.

And I think this all goes on

Till the time we realize it time to move on

Move on from our petty selves

And we meet the person behind the mask

Mask we have had for so long

And we stop being perfect and fake

Because we are humans, for god sake.

Let's shed the walls we have build around us

Which stops us from building real relations.
