As the world is becoming more and more tech oriented, With the growing rate of digital devices, the demand fortechnologies that drive these devices have also increased.

Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, Deep learning etc have topped the charts to become the most functional technologies that are bridging the gap between the known and the unknowns in the digital world.

While AI is being utilized in robotics, Machine Learning, to provide exceptional customer services etc,Ahmed Elgammal, director of the Art and Artificial Intelligence Lab at Rutgers University in New Jersey has taken applications of AI to another level. He created an algorithm that would produce an artwork using AI.

He inserted few sets of paintings by famous painters in algorithm and got it to generate an image.In place of a signature, the equation used to generate the painting was used.

This artwork was sold at a Christie’s auction for $432,500, nearly 45 times its high estimate.This artwork received humongous amount of media attention as itbecame the first piece of AI art to go under the hammer at a major auction house.
