everyone loves a rainbow in the sky, but only very few like it, when it is in the streets.

We are in the 21 century and our country has celebrated, 72 year of it’s independence. Then, why are we still dependent , for our thoughts on the “so”-“called”-“barriers of the society”. There are many such barriers of our life that are still governing us, even today. Why is having a sexual preference, towards the same gender, considered a taboo?

In my opinion, that must be something what an individual decides and not something the society needs to decide for an individual. Hats off to the landmark judgement given byJustice Indu malhotra , as per which section 377 , decriminalizes the consensual sex between adults of same sex as unconstitutional. All of us know, LGBT community hasfaced a lot of problems from the very beginning , which is all a gift to them from the religious guns and the illiterate people. Many reports related to violence have also been encountered so far related to them. Though the judgment gave the community legal approval , but the society still treats it against itsethics. As the word ,” homosexuality “ comes , most of the people starts thinking about it. Most of them, considering it wrong , but why? Just because from the very beginning we are taught that , only a people of different sex can be together in a relationship. Section 377 was brought in the Delhi high court on 27 July 2009 that supported the abolishment of the act. In February 2016 agreed to reconsider its statement and the changed thejudgement in the favour of them, making homosexuality legal in the country.

Most of the people accepted the amendment in a positive manner , but their were some politicians and the great intellectualist of the society, who took it an opposing manner. They even said that it is a disease to social morality. Yogi adityanath , the then member of parliament said,” homosexuality isa danger to social morality. If the social norms and beiliefs are not changed regarding it , there is not much difference that would be left between animal and human.”Swami ramdev , once told that ,he used to invite the gay community to his ashram and also used to guarantee people that he would cure them.But why is the cure needed , is it a disease? That there are making it sound like. Though bollywood had a positive mindset towards to the issue and was happy with the approval.

THE ONLY CHOICE I MADE WAS TO BE MYSELF

We try to copy English culture in most of our life styles then why can’t in this thinking of their’s.Britisher’s implemented the law 50 years ago ,then why can’t we accept it now? It has been more than 70 years, since our independence , but still homosexuals live under fear. If we can live freely, then why can’t they. They are also human beings. Let them also live their dreamsand not make treat that they are “under priviledged”.
