Life is the most beautiful gift of the god it is an opportunity to make
the most of it. People interpret life in their own way of perceptions.
Everyone has a goal in his life and his distinct way to achieve it. Education
plays a vital role to make it happen.
In Vedic age education was based on scriptures and ethical teachings,
with a view to impart value based education to the pupil for their all round
development. The ultimate goal of education was to become a good
human being. This is the objective of any kind of education.
Nelson Mandela said that "Education is the most powerful weapon
which you can use to change the world". Nowadays the dimension
of education has been changed. It has been acquired a different shape
and objective. Though it has been conceived to a small objective of getting
training for money making.

Unfortunately, the darker side of modern education is the commercialization
of it for one's benefit. The present education system can facilitate the world
with its multidimensional aspects but cannot serve the society to excel.
Education which is considered to be the backbone of any country and gives
life to the people has become lifeless itself. The society is heading towards
that direction where the brightness of modern education can never dispel
the decimal world. The importance of value education is absent in modern
education system. There is much emphasis given to technical education
especially in school and colleges only to explore more job opportunities.
Which leaves no social or ethical values among children soon after they
complete their education.

It is observed that "Education is the ability to meet life's situations", but
unfortunately, it has been misinterpreted. It has become only to meet
life demand now. People are becoming more self-centered. They have
more knowledge but less social values now, they don't implement their
education and values in their life. Ethics and moral values have become
a part of text only it has no relevance with their practical world.
Recently, the minister of Human Resource Department, Mr. Prakash
javerakar has initiated value-based education in schools and colleges
in their curriculum. It is a good step taken up by the central government
to promote education.

Educational reform is very essential if we really want to develop our
country. Proper amendments should be made for necessary changes
in the education system. A Lot of things are there to workout.
It is said, "TOMORROW BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE WHO PREPARE FOR IT TODAY".
Then only we can assure a better future to our coming generations who
will definitely change the world.

"THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATION IS TO REPLACE AN EMPTY MIND WITH AN OPEN ONE"
