Early childhood care plays an important role in children's development and provides a beneficial support to families with young people. It is important to understand the impact of these services and to ensure their quality and accessibility.

The characteristics of a high quality child care are;

  • Having well-qualified, well-paid, low child adult ratios, stable staff, & efficient management.

  • Offering a program that covers all aspects of child development (physical, emotional, social, language and cognitive development).

High aspect child care can have a positive influence on children's improvement and school readiness by providing valuable educational and social experiences.

As an increasing number of mothers are in the workforce and most children ages 3 and older are now attending a child care facility on a regular basis, it has become critical that young children from all background should have access to high-quality child care and early education. Research also shows that only high quality provision can deliver well-being and appropriate development to young children.

It is also called as day care is the care and supervision of a child or multiple children at a time, whose ages range from 6 weeks-13 years. Child care providers can be children's first teachers and plays an important role in early childhood education. It is a broad topic that covers a wide spectrum of professionals, contexts, activities, and social & cultural conventions. Early child care is an equally important and often overlooked component of child development. Child care workers attend to the basic needs of children such as dressing, feeding, bathing and overseeing play.

The child care services program subsidizes child care for low-income families, promoting long-term self-sufficiency by enabling parents to work or attend workforce training or education activities. It also educates parents about the availability of quality child care which enhances children's early learning.

Children are curious and playful by nature. A day care provides a safe environment where your little ones can explore to their heart's content. Well trained staff and teachers ensure the little one's receives the best care and attention. It encourages the little one's to interact with their peers, and find their own interests & hobbies and develops their emotional intelligence and independence.

As the child gets more immensed and interested in the world around him/her, a good daycare will use this in a way to introduce new ideas and concepts through game play, song and story. Behaviour learnt includes eating habits, table manners, talking to elders etc.

High quality child care keeps children safe and healthy. It helps children develop skills they will need for success in school and in their lives outside.

  • Pre-literacy and basic mathematical skills and concepts.

  • Social, emotional and communication skills.

  • An awareness of their environment and the roles of the people in it.
