Yoga is a group of spiritual, physical and mental practices or disciplines that are originated in Ancient India. The origins of yoga have been speculated to date back to pre- Vedic Indian Traditions which is mentioned in Rigveda. The eight steps ofyoga are yama , niyama, aasana, pranayama, pratyahar, dhyana, dharana and samadhi. Yogais also said to be a way of life and when practised gives all-round benefits. Many studies have tried to determine the effectiveness of modern yoga as a complementary intervention forcancer ,asthma , schizophrenia and heart disease .

Meditationis a part ofyoga, which deals with mental relaxation and concentration. a meditative means of discovering dysfunctional perception and cognition, as well as overcoming it for release from suffering, inner peace and salvation. Meditationis a practice where an individual uses a technique such asmindfulness or focusing their mind on a particular object, thought or activity to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.

By doing yoga and meditation it reducesdisruption of sleep,depressionandanxiety, increase inblood pressure and contribute to fatigue and cloudy thinking. In an eight-week study, a meditation style called "mindfulness meditation" reduced the inflammation response caused bystress.

They have been used as an alternative form of exercise to keep the mind and body healthy and happy.
