Because of the rapid growth in the transport industry, car manufacturers today focus greatly on the latest equipment to develop new safety devices that protect the driver and passengers from any collision or crash. According to the U.S. Department of transport, near about 81% of an annual vehicle crash can be totally or partially be prevented using the modern technology like radar-based safety devices, new age sensor technology and advancement in computing.

Here we list five features that give your car not only a cool look but makes it tech-savvy:

Autonomous emergency braking (AEB)

Few of the car manufacturers (like BMW, Ford etc.) provides a sensor to detect the distance of any obstacle in front of your car. While driving if your mind shifts from the road by chance, and if it looks like your growing to collide, the car automatically applies brakes to minimize the impact of the crash.

Lane assist

This feature assists you to stay in your lane, as the name suggests. In today's market, few premium cars (SUVs Volvo’s range, Toyotas) comes along with the facility. It simply nudges or vibration in your steering wheel, if you drift out of your motorway. This technology tracks the driving behavior and helps to prevent the risk caused by the sudden illness of the driver.

Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert

This technology was designed to alert the driver about all the traffic coming from the side within a certain distance detected through sensors while driving or parking or both. It is more like a short range detection system. When you put on the turn signal, if it detects any car or obstacle in its way, it may flash a light in the mirror that causes a vibration to the seat or the steering wheel or sound an alarm.

Adaptive cruise control (ACC)

Modern cruise sensors are just not only for controlling the speed but with the assistance of latest forward sensors and radar technology it helps to adjust the throttle and brakes automatically to keep a safe distance from the vehicle which is in front of you. That means if there are changes in traffic speed, and the car in front of you slows down, your car will automatically slow down to maintain the constant distance from it. This feature comes with many mainstream manufacturers like Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz etc.

Reversing camera

The blind spot behind every car was once known for the maximum proportion of accidental rear collisions and regarded as the killing zone. With the introduction of a high-resolution rearview camera , every immediate surrounding behind the car is displayed. With the assistance of a rear parking sensor, it produces an alarming sound to prevent any potential risk of a clash with the nearby car or obstacle.
