Apart from its rich heritage and culture, Indian cuisine is famous worldwide. People come to India not just to see the rich beauty but also to devour the rich taste of the cuisine India presents to its tourists. You will find rich, diverse cuisine all over India. Each state has some special dish which makes them different from others. You will find all types of food from spicy, sour to sweet dishes. Indians actually are very fond of desserts or Indian sweet dishes. In India, without having a sweet dish, the meal is not over. You will find all types of desserts made from different ingredients.

So let’s take a culinary trip to find some famous Indian desserts which the tourists love to eat:

Gajar ka Halwa

One of the famous, mouthwatering dessert which every Indian love to eat. Made from grated carrots, which is simmered in milk and cardamoms, fried in a generous amount of ghee and sugar and at last, garnished with dry fruits. You will find it only in winter. The aroma and the sight of the halwa flowing in ghee make it look more delicious. Well, if you are traveling in winters to India, do taste this dessert to relish your taste buds.

Gulab Jamun

This small, round, golden- brown colored dessert dipped in saffron induced sugar syrup is the most amazing Indian dessert. They are so soft and have a creamy texture. Usually served hot, it will melt in your mouth. This dessert is irresistible making it an all-time favorite of everyone.

Kheer

An Indian traditional pudding made of milk and rice. It has a smooth and creamy texture which will make you want more of it. Can be served warm as well but the taste that a chilled bowl of kheer has, no one can match it. Garnished with loads of dry fruits makes it one of the favorite dessert in India. You will find kheer in various other names but the taste is the same just with a little difference. In the South, it is called “Payasam” made of moong dal and coconut milk. In West Bengal, they put date palms in the kheer and it is called “Notun Gurer Payesh”.

Ladoos

It is the most popular and loved by everyone in India. You can find different varieties of laddoos but the most famous one is Motichoor ke ladoo. These round ball-shaped desserts are common offerings to God in the temples.
