The civilisation around the indus river was forced to move away from their valley and find land lsewhere. They reached another river that they named Ganges and settled there. This place is now called as India. India is situated on the west of the world. It is the second largest country in Asia and the second populous one too. India shares its borders with Pakisthan and Afghanisthan in the North west and Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, China and Myanmar in the north east. India has 29 states, each having 2 official languages and different cultures.

India gave birth to religions like Sikh, Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Most of the people here are HIndus, therefore the gastronomy here is mostly Vegetarian. But India is a secular country with a lot of religious minorities who have other type of cuisines too.

Taj Mahal in India is one of the seven wonders of the world. India has other monuments and historical sights that hold value till date and are well maintained. India's major cities are Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Delhi, its capital. India's climate is influenced by the tropic of cancer, Thar desert and the Himalayas. Therefore, some of the regions are cold whereas some are humid.
