The first step to solving a career problem is to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Exploring your values, interests, and skills will help you find educational and career options that match up with your goals.

There are several tips for a good choice while opting career:

It’s your choice:

That’s the harsh reality. Only you know what the right career choice is and your former boss or the Internet can’t make the choice for you.

Avoid bad advice:

Wait for the right time, it’s never the right time. Keep thinking about the decision and you’ll figure it out , no you won’t. Find people who are more successful than you and ask them for advice.

Warning signs in your career:

  • Are you pumped to go to work on Monday morning?

  • Do you obsess over how quickly the weekend comes around?

  • Are you waking up late for work?

  • Do you count down the minutes to lunchtime?

  • Do you shy away from taking a promotion or applying for the next role?

  • Do you constantly dream about starting a business?

These are all warning signs that something needs to change in your career. In other words, you need to make the right career decision instead of taking the easy road you’ve been driving down for years with control enabled, your hand out the window and no cars in front of you.

Never make a career decision out of fear:
Fear is a useful emotion for making short-term decisions. Fear is worse than useless, however, when making long-term decisions. Making career decisions out of fear tends to land people in jobs that they hate and cause them to miss opportunities for jobs they'd truly enjoy.

Imagine Your Future Self:

By placing yourself in the future rather than the present, you’ll have a better way of understanding how your decision will impact your goals. Even if the offer sounds exciting, if it has no room for development and will limit your learning, then it’s probably best way until you’re clear about what you truly want.

Deciding on your career is always hard and uncertain. You’ll never know the outcome of your choices until you take that leap. But if you’ve done your research, talked to the people who matter the most and know in your gut that your decision is right, then there’s nothing left to do but make that choice and stick with it. What’s important is to keep moving towards your goals, confidently knowing that the decisions you made will take you there.
