Living on the edge without much money, carrying a backpack and travelling from one place to another. Whatever we name them but "Travellers" definitely know how to make the most out of their lives.

The types of travel styles we do:

  • The Weekend Break: These breaks are usually for the ones who love to travel but have work from 9-5 a day so just find a cheap airfare deal and cover the places at the shortest distances.

  • Road / Caravan Trips: When you have your own caravan, you can drive to somewhere new and always have that option of cheap travel, this one is the most child-friendly type of travel.

  • The Group Tour: No matter what's your interest from history to ghosts, cooking to fishing, there is a group tour out there for you. Your schedule is usually packed with many different activities so you will never be bored. The benefit of a group tour is that you will be automatically thrown into the mix with a lot of people who share your interests and you will probably make new friends.

  • The Package Holiday:All you need to do is to choose a specific place you wish to visit and your travel agent makes all the arrangements to make it the best one!

This is definitely not the travel where you get to meet new people, it's just about the two of you living in that paradise!

  • The Gap Year: It's a year you usually take off to work or study in abroad. It's not about how much you do on your trip, this basically defines the longer durations you get on visiting a place. Obtaining a working holiday visa is a great way to spend a Gap Year because you will be able to earn money while abroad in order to fund your travels.

  • Event Travel: This is all about experiencing alongside people who share common interests as you. Travelling for the purpose of attending a music festival, a Carnaval or maybe a World Cup.

  • Long Term/ Slow Travel: It defines the number of months or years you take to be in a place and understanding what it's culture or roots are all about. Long term travellers are budget backpackers trying to make their travel fund extend for as long as it's possible by staying in hostels and looking for cheap attractions.

  • Business Travel: Your company is footing all the required expenses for this type of travel (Preferable for most of us). While you don't get to choose where you go and you will be spending a lot of your time working, getting paid to travel rather than being stuck in a cabinet is a great way to spend your working week. You may consider adding an extra day to your trip at your own expense so that you can spend more time exploring the city and combine your business trip with a mini-vacation.

  • Visiting Friends or Relatives: The advantage of this type of travel is that when you go to meet a friend, you can stay longer because there is no need to pay for accommodation. The downside for this travel is you don't have the freedom of exploring things on your own.

We can choose any type of styles amongst the listed ones here, each has its own magic. And yes there many pros and cons related to travelling too so I would cover that in my next article! ☺
